To celebrate Heart Niagara’s recent move to 4635B Queen Street in Niagara Falls, the non-profit organization hosted a grand opening event and fundraiser called, Picnic on the Q. It took place on Thursday, August 18th, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm.
Following a temporary closure of a portion of Queen Street, one long continuous picnic table was placed along with seating for over 100 guests. Many guests personalized their portion of the table with decor such as flowers, matching tableware and umbrellas. Musician, John Kossup, entertained the crowd with his guitar playing and vocals.
Picnic on the Q served as a pilot project to support an application for Canada’s 150th celebration. In 2017, Heart Niagara’s goal is to host a community picnic along the length of Queen Street and beyond, which could place the event in the Guinness World Records.
All proceeds went to support Heart Niagara’s move to Queen Street. To make a donation, please visit https://heartniagara.org/donations/.
We thank everyone who supported and attended this event!
