Proceeds to assist non-profit organization with relocation expenses
Niagara Falls – August 31, 2016: For nearly 40 years, Heart Niagara has been committed to delivering community-based health services, public education and health promotion.
On July 5th, 2016, Heart Niagara relocated to 4635B Queen Street in Niagara Falls. The new 6,661 sq ft. space has allowed for increased services and improved access to programming in Niagara.
The non-profit organization’s growth has generated program development and moving expenses, which are estimated at $60,000. Heart Niagara has been fundraising through community events and donations to help cover these costs.
An upcoming fundraiser called Opera Tasting is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 9th, from 6pm-9pm. Regional Councillor, Bob Gale, and his wife, Vera, will be hosting the event at their home on Read Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Garden party themed, guests will have the opportunity to sample wine that has been carefully paired with live Italian Opera. “Dinner under the stars” will also be served.
Musicians and vocalists performing at Opera Tasting will be under the direction of Sara Maida-Nicol, an instructor at The Royal Conservatory of Music and University of Toronto. Several performances will occur throughout the event, including an Opera Toast, pairings and a group performance.
“I am certain that music is good for the heart. It reminds us about the importance of leadership, teamwork and friendship,”exclaimed Heart Niagara’s Executive Director, Karen Stearne.
“The proceeds from Opera Tasting will to go towards the expenses associated with our move to Queen Street. Although this move was not planned, it has provided a beautiful new beginning and we are now situated in the heart of our community.”
Opera Tasting tickets are $150 per person or $1200 for a table of 8. Limited tickets are available. They can be purchased by calling Heart Niagara at 905-358-5552, email email@example.com or by visiting heartniagara.org.
